Head Teacher Welcome
Welcome to our school website. It is both an honour and a privilege to be Head Teacher at Holy Spirit Catholic Primary Academy, I am incredibly proud of our pupils and staff and proud to be part of the Holy Spirit community. We are a Catholic school and that is at the very heart of everything we do. Together we are ‘building God’s kingdom of peace, love and justice.’ every day.
Holy Spirit is an outstanding Catholic primary school; we are a welcoming and caring family. Our children are amazing, all staff are incredibly dedicated and our parents are supportive – we work together as a team to ensure the best for every child.
The school is a strong, joyful community where high-quality relationships of mutual trust and support abound. (Ofsted Dec ’22)
Our school virtues underpin everything we do here as we aim to develop children not just academically but morally, socially and spiritually so that they can realise their full potential as active citizens in the world God has given us.
‘The school’s 12 virtues are a shared language across all areas of school life. As a result, pupils’ spiritual and moral education is strong.’ (Ofsted Dec ‘22)
Pupils demonstrate a real love for their school which is ‘a community’, ‘a family’, ‘like a home’ where ‘we are looked after’ and ‘we look out for each other’ (S48 inspection July ‘22)
I am passionate about education and want all children to receive the very best education they can. Our leaders and teachers have worked hard to ensure that the curriculum meets the needs of all pupils and that children are able to build their knowledge and understanding as they progress through school whilst studying a curriculum that is both interesting and engaging.
‘Learning is contagious at this school.’ This is because leaders have built a new curriculum which is rewarding and purposeful. (Ofsted Dec 22)
We understand that choosing a school for your child is an extremely important decision and we warmly welcome visitors and invite you to make an appointment to see our school in action and find out more.
God Bless,
Mrs Claire Bass
